Nigerian comedy is a constantly evolving landscape and one region that has produced comedians in Nigeria is Warri

Delta State is probably the most sought-after place for comedians in the world. their strong use of the pidgin english as one major language makes it even more unique.

Its more like every one born and raised in warri is naturally funny and that has been our heritage since day one. comedy has been our legacy and we hope to keep this trend to stand the test of time.

here is the list of our top 5 warri born comedians that have really made us proud.

1. Ali Baba

It would definately be a waste of time to talk about comedy in nigeria without mentioning the founding father of nigeria comedy ALI BABA ( Atuyota Akporobomeriere )he is our very own warri boy and he started comedy professionally in 1988 during his early days in school.

Initially when he started comedy, it was more of a display of a strong sense of humour but it has now become a major source of income to him.

Though his major breakthrough came In 1999 when he perform at a birthday party organised in honour of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

As at the time of putting this very post, Ali Baba is now the highest paid comedian in Nigeria.

2. I Go Die

Francis Agoda (I Go Die) is one comedian i love so much. His strong use of the warri pidgin english in cracking jokes makes him even more outstanding. he is if not the best when it comes to ribs cracking. at a very young age (13 ) he won a scholarship to study structural engineering at  New York University but rejected the offer because he knew right from the onset that comedy was his calling.

The Warri born comedy legend has a funny way of poking the nigerian politicians in his jokes.

3. Gordons

Godwin Komone a.k.a Gordons is also our very own boy and he has made us proud in several occasion. The Warri-born songwriter, singer and comedian got even more popular when he released his single "Welu Welu" which caught the attention of so many personality and was a major hit then in every radio stations.

The Integrated Science graduate of the Delta State University is not just a musician and a comedian, he is a man who knows the value of education and has decided to bring a little bit of education into entertainment, by creating a brand named  “psycho-comedy” that makes the listener laugh, and at the same time learn as well.

4. Akpororo

Warri-born comedian, Bowoto Jephta (Akpororo ) is one outstanding comedian i respect so much. his mode of comedy is so real and can be very funny atimes.

He started comedy officially in 2008 and had his major  breakthrough at the AY Open Comedy Mic show.

His own type of comedy is infectious; his jokes hits you so hard like a big blow on your head. Akpororo has a way of cracking jokes with almost anything he sees around him and that makes him special.

When asked during an interview, he discloses that he got most if his inspirations today through lunatics and you can see that manifesting from the way he acts.

5. Gandoki

Each passing year, the nigeria music industry experience a big break from different artiste cutting their very own share of the music pie. some might have been in the game for some time now while others might be upcoming but we are only concern with which of these nigeria artiste we should look at for in the year 2016.

here are our top 10 artiste we believe might bring the grammy award to nigeria soneday.

1. Tekno

Tekno has happens to be our top one and he has been in the industry for quite some time now. He was formely signed to Made Men Music Group (Triple MG 2013).

I was'nt a fan of him not until i heared his topping single –HOLIDAY featuring the HKN boss, Davido.

Other songs include "DANCE" and "EVERYTHING" his major breakthrough actually came out last year when he realeases his evergreen song "DURO" which happens to be one of the biggest songs of 2015 followed by "Wash"

2. Adekunle Gold

Adekunle Gold has been around for some time now and so many persons did'nt notice (me pricely).

Adekunle Gold surpriced us with  "SADE" in December 2014, Which happens to be a remake of “Story Of My Life”. it was this very song that actually caught YBNL Boss, Olamide who went ahead to strike a record label deal with this young lad.

he then came up with this follow up single ORETE . Just when we taught we've seen the best of him, he surprised us even the more with the PICK-UP of a song.

Adekunle Gold is one of the Afropop super star we should really look up to like a a mini God in this fun filled year..

3. Ycee

Ycee, tiny entertainment signee has been in the music industry since 2012. though he has been into music right from his schooling days in LASU..

Late 2015, the "JAGABAN" master officially sprung up from nowhere with the killer bit of a monster song and it was every where.

he did'nt stopped there, he went ahead and made a remix of this monster song with the YBNL Boss Olamide and it became among the hottest song of the moments.

Ycee quickly followed that up with a song i so much love "OMO ALHAJI" which i believe has already taking over for now.

4. Humble Smith

I really cant tell precisely when and how he came into the big picture, all i know is that he has been around since 2012 with his hot single "CHAIRMOO"

Humblesmith later featured Phyno in "OSINACHI". the single became the talk of the town and as such earned him a name in the Rookies of the year at the Headies.

The remix featuring Davido was probably one of the hit track of the year(2016) and thus with hard work and dertimination, i'm pretty sure he will be one of those artiste to watch out for in 2016..

5. Simi

The X3M music songstress/songwriter Simi is our top 5 artiste that made this chat. Simi hot single – "Jamb Question" got so much attention and critics  from so many persons but we think this song ought to be given a second look at.

She followed it up w – "OPEN AND CLOSE" which happebs to be a mixture of fuji and pop. permit me to call it (fuji-pop)

One thing i like about her is her way of telling a story through her carefully arranged songs.

Simi is one big breakthrough we should be expecting to break the ice in 2016.

6.Niniola

Niniola, formal project fame winner rise to fame came as a big blow in my chest. ever since she release her official single "IBADI"

Her 2015 single "SOKE" was a song i love and this songs indeed made her so more fans and critics that she got featured by Eddy Kenzo’s hit single "Mbilo mbilo"

her strong vocal  and stage performances made her an even more outstanding and talented act. i believe if she continues like this, she might end up making the top act to be looked out on in 2016.

Other artiste that made our top ten includes
7. B_Red

here is out top 10 for the month of january.

1.Osinachi-Remix-By-Humblesmith-ft-Davido

This song is probably the best songs that i have heard lately. i could remember what my friend told me about this song when it first came out, he said guy, you need to listen to this song and i was like what's so special about this song? now i know why he wanted me to check this song out. its wow and a must have for everyone that loves good music.

2. DJ-Enimoney. ft Olamide -Oya-Dab

YBNL disk jockey DJ Enimoney took the nigeria industry into a different dimension with his killer song Oya Dab. a song that has brought a different lifestyle to all nigeria youths. i remembered vividly how i use to see the Dab style on almost all social networking sites and it really got me thinking aloud not until few months ago i stumbled upon this very crazy dance style of a song and i'm already loving it.

The penthauze legend and the connect master came out with this banging song that took hiphop out of control. as the name implies "Wicked" its probably the wickeddess (pls permit me to use that for now) rap song that last month has ever produced.

Its your boy Zoro on this one. Zoro has been hitting it hard and this one is a sure proof of hardwork been put to test. an impressive rapper per say and he went ahead to give this very song "Oghene" flavour by featuring the igbo king flavour.

Just when we taught we have seen the last of Lk kuddy when he officially featured our very home boy "Yung6ix", on the song titled With you, he came this time around with a more killer part of what we did not hear on the official song by featuring the star boy boss Wizkid. Lk kuddy is an artiste to be looked at for in this year.

The five star music legend Harrysong should be looked out for as far as nigeria music industry is concern. after winning the hit song of the year, he went ahead to release Akagum a track i love so much featuring one of naija finnest, duncan mighty. the sing is produced by Mystro (five star producer)

The capital hill boss "IllBliss" has indeed proven to us that he deserve to be called the king of hiphop in Nigeria. his choice of words and how he manages to blend it into his rapping makes him unique. "NKU" means abundant blessings. and from what i can see, this song is really blessed. other appearances include flavour and the acclamed queen of highlife music.

Oluwa ni is a song i so much love. it reminds me of how hard work pays. though the lyrics seems a little bit confusing at first but the beat was something else, it got me nodding my big head as if i was addicted to some kind of drugs. the song is a must have for everyone who believes hard work pays. the part that really wowed me was when he said "small boy buy him mama hause" i felt like i was playing all this while and it was more of a wake up call for me personally to keep hustling hard until we make all the dollars.

I personally like this boy alot and i have been a dye-hard fan. The YBNL shoki crunner has been keeping his fans entertained and i'm sure you all are going to love this track as well. "Ibile" is produced by Pheelz and young john the wicked producer.

G-Worldwide recording artiste "Sugarboy" just released his first single after been signed to the above record label. Hola Hola is an afrobeat reggae tune that will get you dancing as if you just got a promoion at your place of work.

These are our TOP 10 songs of the month of january. please note that the above songs are in no particular order so if you think we made a mistake or probably skipped a song that ought to be among our top 10 feel free to drop a comment below thanks.....
